NOTICE: SAMI Music Bursary winners, Musiek Sterre volume 1 SMS competition
Due to timing restraints and administrative necessities to enrol new students for courses at the South African Music Institute (SAMI) for 2011, SAMI have requested that Musiek Sterre and its affiliates select the remaining 3 winners of the full time music course bursaries ahead of the proposed closing date of the SMS competition.
The result of this decision is that 3 winners will be drawn from the Musiek Sterre SMS entry database for the SAMI music bursary prize on 10 December 2010. This is exactly 28 days earlier than the initially proposed date of the close of the SMS entry for the SAMI music bursary, initially on 7 January 2011.
This decision will ensure that the 3 winners of the SAMI music bursary are provided a more reasonable time frame in which to finalise all arrangements with SAMI, in order to successfully enrol in the music course(s) during 2011.
The decision to change the entry deadline for the SAMI bursary is subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Musiek Sterre SMS competition as mentioned in:

Each SMS costs R1.50, premium rates apply, free SMSs do not count, and errors will be billed.
Competitions are only valid in SOUTH AFRICA
There is no restriction on the number of entries an individual may submit.
The SAMI full-time music bursary competition closes on December 10 2010.
All other competitions close on January 15 2011.
Winners of the Playstation, SterKinekor, Sing Star, Nashua Mobile, SAMI and Starlight Cruises prizes will be notified via SMS.
All final and/or outstanding winners will be announced on January 21 2011 on www.musieksterre.co.za
Any person who wins a competition which is advertised inside the Musiek Sterre plakboek is still eligible to win another catagory of prize, depending on their SMS entry. The catagories are: SterKinekor movie tickets, Playstation and Singstar bundles, Nokia 5130 Comes with music cellphones, Starlight Cruises and SAMI music bursary. ie. A person that wins a SterKinekor movie ticket is still eligible to win a Playstation 3 and/or a Nokia cell phone and/or the Starlight Cruise etc. The winners for these prizes are audited externally by Nashua Mobile, who finalise the winners in conjunction with the prize sponsors.
The following Terms and Conditions apply to individual Musiek Sterre prizes:
SterKinekor (daily prize):
Winners of the SterKinekor movie ticket prize will be notified via response SMS.
Winners will receive a 16 digit code (e-ticket), which can be redeemed at any SterKinekor movie theatre in South Africa, via the self-service machines. Each code represents 1 SterKinekor movie ticket, and becomes invalid after the ticket is redeemed for the first time.
Nashua Mobile (bi-weekly prize):
Winners of the Nashua Mobile prize will be notified via response SMS.
Winners will be entitled to a Nokia 5130 Comes With Music, as well as a starter pack allocated at random from the major cellular service providers of South Africa.
Winners must visit and register on www.musieksterre.co.za and submit their contact details on the "Wenners" tab. SA Music Collectables and/or its affiliates will contact the winners individually to confirm and award the prize, which will be delivered to their specified address.
Playstation and Sing Star (monthly prize):
Winners of the Playstation and Sing Star prize will be notified via response SMS.
Winners will be entitled to a PS3 250Gig console, with 1 wireless controller, bundled with one of 5 Sing Star titles allocated at random (ABBA, Motown, Queen, Take That, Volume 3) and 2 wireless microphones.
Winners must visit and register on www.musieksterre.co.za and submit their contact details on the "Wenners" tab. SA Music Collectables and/or its affiliates will contact the winners individually to confirm and award the prize, which will be delivered to their specified address.
S.A. Music Institute (SAMI) full-time music bursary competition(final prizes):
1. The competition is open to ages 16 years and above , living in South Africa or Namibia. All employees and their immediate family that are involved with any of the sponsorships or media are excluded from entering the competition. Minors (under the age of 18) need written permission from their guardians.
2. Participants must already have a good knowledge of the instrument they enter for. This means, have knowledge of chords etc. or at least have taken up lessons before hand. Qualifications not necessary. Winners will also need to audition.
3. The prize category is as follow:
1x Guitar Full time Course to the value of R 27500.
1x Piano Full time Course to the value of R 27500,
1x Bass Guitar Full time Course to the value of R 27500
1x Drum Full time Course to the value of R 27500.
Other prizes up for grab: 5 double tickets to the S.A. Music Institute Year End Concert held at Unisa ZK Matthews Hall, 27 November 2010.
The Winner of the Starlight Cruises and MSC Cruises prize will be notified via response SMS.
The winner will be entitled to a 4 night cruise in a luxury cabin on an MSC Cruise ship to Maputo and Portuguese Island.
The winner must visit and register on www.musieksterre.co.za and submit their contact details on the "Wenners" tab. SA Music Collectables and/or its affiliates will contact the winner individually to confirm and award the prize, who will also be announced on www.musieksterre.co.za.
Musiek Sterre Hamper:
The Musiek Sterre Hamper prize will be awarded to the first 10 individuals who have completed sticker slots 1 - 105 in the sticker book with official Musiek Sterre stickers. Once a sticker book is completed, the individual must visit www.musieksterre.co.za; click on the "Voltooi jou plakboek" button, and submit their entry with their personal details.
Individuals must be registered on www.musieksterrre.co.za to qualify for the Musiek Sterre Hamper prize.
Marshall Music-Takamine:
The "All Star Guitar" prize will be awarded to the individual who has officially collected the most "Marshall Music-Takamine" stickers (Sticker number 5) as at 15 January 2011.
To officially verify any amount of stickers, an individual must take their collected "Marshall Music-Takamine" stickers to an approved Marshall Music retail outlet, and have the stickers counted by an official Marshall Music representative in the store. The individual will then be officially registered at that tally of stickers.
Individuals may follow this process several times as their sticker collection grows.
A "current leader board" is available on www.musieksterre.co.za, which lists the names & total stickers of the top 10 individuals with the most Marshall Music-Takamine stickers from around the country.

The staff of SA Music Collectables, their competition sponsors, their direct affiliates and all direct family members may not enter any of the Musiek Sterre competitions.
SA Music Collectables reserves the right to amend and/or adjust any of the competitions at any time.
The SMS competitions are managed by Nashua Mobile and SA Music Collectables.
The "All Star Guitar" competition is managed by Marshall Music and SA Music Collectables.
Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash.
The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
